Nepalese prayer flag

Prayer flags are different coloured pieces of cloth which are flown throughout the Himalayan mountain region to spread goodwill and positive energy. Each colour represents an element – blue the sky, white the air, red fire, green water and yellow the earth – and all together represent balance.

Bardan Pradhan has prayer flags in his greengrocers shop in Charlton. They remind him of his home in Nepal. They help to keep him grounded and peaceful in what has been a busy and stressful time for shopkeepers. His shop has remained open selling fruit & vegetables to local people.
