Andrew Strange died in the 1918 flu pandemic, the most serious global pandemic before COVID-19. This is his death certificate from the Royal Herbert Hospital in Woolwich.

Andrew joined the army in the early 1900s and fought in the First World War. He had a mixed record, often going absent from barracks and getting into trouble. Andrew and his wife Ethel lived in Woolwich and when he died, she was left alone to look after their six children, including a four-month-old baby.

Although we have quite a lot of information about the Stranges and their lives in Woolwich, we have no photo of Andrew or his family. Are you related to them and can you help?
