Woolwich’s Royal Arsenal made weapons and explosives for over 300 years. Thousands of men and women from across the country moved to Woolwich to work in the Arsenal’s factories. Important people from many countries visited and signed their names in its Visitors Book. They included kings and queens, military leaders and politicians from Britain, China, Japan, Nepal, Tibet, India, Nigeria, Turkey, Romania and Sweden.
The pages you can see record some of these VIPs including Queen Victoria’s visit in March 1900.
