In 1925, Charlton House was sold by the Maryon Wilson family, who had owned it for more than 150 years. The House itself was bought by Greenwich Council and the contents were sold off at a public auction. This Sales Catalogue gives us a peek into what a wealthy family owned, including paintings, furniture, arms and armour, stuffed birds and animals.
In 2014, Charlton House was transferred to the care of the Royal Greenwich Heritage Trust. You can look around the rooms, hire them for events including getting married there.
