Herbert Davies received this medal for good conduct and attendance at school in 1913-14. His medal features a picture of the king, George V, which must have made Herbert feel very important.
Herbert was born, grew up and went to school in Plumstead. He worked as an engineer and got married in 1932 and he and his wife Wilhelmina also lived together in Plumstead.
Herbert was rewarded for going to school but during 2020, many children could not go at all because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Do you have any stories to tell us about your experiences of home schooling?
